Asquith Properties were recently successful in a competition to develop a key gateway site into Bradford on Manchester Road. In partnership with one of the country's leading architectural practices, Glenn Howells Architects, Asquith Properties are to develop the former Reyner House site on Manchester Road into an innovative development. ‘Citygate’ – the development has been named is a £150million, mixed used scheme. Plans for Citygate include an impressive 38 storey high glass tower, which will transform the city’s skyline, creating the tallest building in Bradford.
Four phases are to be completed by December 2012, the first phase to be ready for occupancy early 2012. All four phases, totalling over 21,000m2 in size, comprises 729 residential units of which the majority will be luxury apartments with a small amount of town houses. Two of the 38 storeys will be retail levels and the grounds will include two basement parking levels and two beautifully landscaped private courtyards. The development also includes a 116-bedroom hotel with associated conference and banqueting hall with a capacity for over a 1,000 guests. Citygate certaintly is a development which will offer a unique opportunity for work and living space that will meet the requirements for a sustainable community to flourish.
Asquith Properties are proud to work in partnership with Bradford Trident, in delivering this sustainable development to Bradford. The intention is to mark the gateway site along Manchester Road by creating a range of public spaces and private courtyards, with footpaths and cycle ways.
